MM24 Monochrome Madness Week 24

This is my first post I publish in Monochrome Madness. Thank you Leanne for letting me jump on board. Monochrome photography is for me quite new land. Oh not really, when I was a kid my parents told me colour photos are too expensive so I got only black and white films and I learned to develop monochrome later. But this is long long time ago and here we are again.

These 4 photos I’ve turned into black & white for Leanne & Laura’s «Monochrome Madness» blog. To have a look at more photos for this weeks challenge go to Leanne Coles post.

Middle of winter people sitting outside and enjoying the mild weather.
Some are waiting, some are thinking and some are debating.

This week the Photo Challenge is Texture. Share a texture found in an unexpected place. It could be made of natural materials, as in these images, or with man-made objects.

This is not coffee on tap. The froth and bubbles you see are a result of saponin in the river. Saponin comes from plants as they break down in the water. As the water tumbles over the rocks it churns up the saponin in the water and makes a very natural ‘cappuccino’ in winter months. In summer we drink beer. To see how it’s created and move in the river  click here. In the entry Art by Nature I have some more amazing textures captured on the beach close to Denmark.

For this week’s challenge, share with us your own take on zigging and zagging. It can be a winding path, the Herringbone pattern on your coat, a scar: any jagged line that tells a story. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. The Sydney Opera House with its Roof Tiles is zigzag in architecture. More photos of the Sydney Opera House you can see here!

Inspired by Indah Susanti’s blog posts Monochrome Monday and Lignum Draco’s excellent Street Photography I try to post weekly on Monday something totally new for me: Street and Candid Photography. This pushes me out of my comfort zone and more often with the camera out to the street and public places. My first entry is from yesterdays visit to the Craft Fair in the State Theatre in Perth. This are impressions from people browsing the handcrafted beautiful goods at this fair and

This week, share a photo that says summer lovin’ to you. It might be a favorite pair of sandals you can’t bear to part with, the homemade salsa you made with veggies from your garden, the flowers you planted, or your family frolicking on the beach. If summer is on the way in your hemisphere, show us something hot hot hot: your homemade sriracha sauce, some friends shuckin’ and jivin’ on the dance floor, or even the furnace or boiler that heats your home.

This weekly Photo Challenge is about: Share your own vision of a container you find interesting. You can take the challenge as literally as you want — a box of chocolates, a broken bottle, your town’s water tank, an empty shell on the beach. Or go in a more figurative direction — from the skin that wraps our body to the comfort of a hug, we all constantly hold and are held by other things and other people. This photos are from “Water Containers” photographed in my home village where I grew up. This is my second entry about relic on this weekly photo challenge. I found this old machinery on a railway crossing in Western Australia near Carnarvon.
